About David Stanley
David traveled extensively throughout the country during his life, particularly through the South and Southwestern United States, he finally landed in Southern California. Marveling at the majesty he witnessed in nature, from the high mountains of Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, to rich evergreen forests and giant trees of California, the rushing rivers of the west, the crashing waves of the Monterey Peninsula coupled with the scorching deserts of Arizona and New Mexico, he took up his brushes to capture his memories. Added are his memories of his childhood in Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas where calm, cool rivers, dusty roads and trails slumbered beneath the heat of the summer days. When asked, he categorizes himself as a "Impressionistic Landscape Artist".and his work "Impressionscapes". He depicts remembered and discovered views of nature whilst adding personal feelings and stories. Specializing in western landscapes, his high, snowy mountain craigs sweep down to broad prairies and desert vistas. Crashing waters and dripping foliage change to hidden forests revealing breathtaking sunlit secrets. Lonesome roads and abandoned fields recall memories of long ago. His art hangs in many homes about the country. Presented here are a few of his pieces.
